Elworth Pre-School currently employs seven members of staff consisting of a Manager, a Deputy/SENCO, and five Early Years Practitioners, many of whom have worked at this setting for a number of years. All members of staff hold a minimum of a level 3 NVQ in Childcare and the Manager of the setting has recently achieved a 1st class (BA) Hons degree in Early Childhood Studies and also holds EYP status as the Leader of the Curriculum in the setting.
Staff are encouraged to attend varied training courses when available to improve the running of the overall setting which have included first aid, sign language, safe guarding and food hygiene. Regular staff meetings are held to feedback information from courses and also for planning activities and themes for the up coming terms.
Our key person system gives each member of staff particular responsibility for just a few children. Each child in the group then has one special adult to relate to, which can help make settling in easier. In addition, the key person is in a position to tailor the curriculum to the needs of each individual child.
